how I can help you...
Acupuncture & herbal therapy can be beneficial for almost
any condition, because your practitioner treats you. Not your condition.
Below is a list of many of the issues that the NIH and World Health Organization have studied to determine efficacy of acupuncture.
Please be advised: you should first consult your physician about your condition. However, in New York State, it is not required to have a referral for acupuncture from a medical doctor.

PEDIATRICS:
Parents always are curious about how Chinese medicine can help their child, and what conditions are treatable. The best reply, and most basic, is that this modality of healing can help your child develop through all phases of infancy, toddlerhood, childhood, and pubery by helping their immature systems function at the highest possible level by strengthening them in various ways. The main root of most childhood ailments is their weak digestive systems, so this is always an imporant area of focus in the treatment session.
The types of modalities used in treating children is not limited to needles. In fact, most of what I do is educate parents on how to administer specific massage techniques to do at home. The massage is called "tui na" (tway-nah), and is tailored to address exactly what is causing the child to be unwell.
In the office, I will also use some small instruments, called "shoni shin," which are gently scraped or tapped on the child's limbs, back and abdomen. Children love these instruments, and always make up stories about each one. There is a tradition in Japan where children come in for shoni shin treatments on each full moon, for "wellness" visits, in order to keep them healthy. This is a great way to introduce your child to receiving treatments when they are healthy, rather than when they are sick or unwell, and may not be as receptive or cooperative.
Diet and nutritional education is an essential part of the pediatric treatment. If everyone is amenable, there might be some needling, but it is not imperative for children to have this done.
The most common issues addressed in my clinic are:
-Sensory integration dysfunction -Allergies, including food allergies
-Eczema, dermatitis -Asthma
-Special needs (birth trauma, congenital issues, down's syndrome)
-Digestive complaints
-ADHD/ADD
-Ear aches
